Samos roadtrip: Chora - Koumaradei - Pyrgos - Spatharei - Pagondas - Myli

No talk, just drive! Enjoy the #Samos landscapes and the villages we pass on our roadtrip in the winter sun. To be honest, our roadtrip started off as a hunt for some snow on the mountains. Unfortunately for our boys, we found out most of the snow was already gone. Nevertheless, we had a nice afternoon driving from #Pythagorio through #Chora, #Koumaradei and #Pyrgos towards Spatharei. The view from the road between #Spatharei and #Pagondas towards the snow-capped Kerkis mount

Pythagorio - Ireon - Myli by bicycle (part 2)

After a short stop in Ireon this time, we continue our bicycle tour to Myli. We see the town square, the oldest olive tree on Samos and ofcourse the deliciously sweet oranges. We return to Pythagorio after a last stop at the Imvrassos river, next to which, according to myths, the goddess Hera was born. Further down on the river bank the Hera Temple was built. Cloudy visit to Possidonio-Kerveli-Psili Ammos-Mykali

Short trip to South-East Samos to show you the beautiful bays of Possidonio and Kerveli. Next stop in Psili Ammos (meaning "fine sand"), the sandy beach from which the distance to Turkey is only 1,6 kilometers! In Mykali we show you the salty lake with the flamingos and the old salt factory. Before we return to Pythagorio, we make a last stop at the windmills just outside the village. Pythagorio - Ireon - Myli by bicycle (part 1)

Following the bicycle path from Potokaki, my oldest son Vasilis and I went to Ireon and (partly) up to Myli. A beautiful ride of around 20 kilometers that we will definitely repeat soon. Sorry for the noisy (windy) start, but it gets better! If you would like to stay informed about new videos I make for Samos Virtual, you can subscribe to my channel on YouTube. Visiting the Ancient theater and Panagia Spiliani Monastery

Walk from Pythagorio up the mountain to the Ancient Theater and the Monastery of Panagia Spiliani. Legend has it that the antique icon of Virgin Mary, that I show you in this video, was once stolen and the thieves intended to take the icon to their home by boat. The icon did not want to leave the island of Samos and fell into the sea, broken in pieces. Locals found the pieces of the icon on the beach, put them back together and brought the icon back to its place in the Monast

Pythagorio Samos as you have never seen it in May!

A short tour along Pythagorio beach and through the village of Pythagorio with no tourists around due to the travel restrictions because of the Corona virus. Follow us to the Castle of Lykourgos Logotheti, the Metamorphosis church and the port of Pythagorio. Just now, people are preparing for a short summer season as you can see in the harbor and the main street. See you in our next video, or hopefully live on Samos some day!
